Light of the World

Mt. 5:14 – 16‘You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven.’

How do we walk in the Light?

Are we being the best we were designed to be?

Who are we glorifying by our thoughts, words and actions?

Who is the Lord of our Lives?

Who is pushing our buttons? Pulling our strings?

When people look at us who do they see?

Trim our wicks  – have the sins cut off by Jesus.

Start with Believing that Jesus is Lord

That we are sinners

That we deserve punishment of death for our sins

Jesus paid the price for all our sins, past present and future

We who believe have eternal life : Romans “No condemnation.”

A new heart, new spirit, new body is coming.

We are either in God’s army or the devil’s. There is no 3rd. option.

A light must be lit before it can light others.

How strong is your light?

Can people see your light so they are drawn to it?

Is your light shining at all times or only when it’s convenient?

Is your light full of the fruit of the spirit?

Galations: 5: 22 & 23 ‘But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, against such there is no law.’

What’s the fruit of your Spirit? We can only embrace, experience and share the fruit of the Spirit if we let the Spirit come and dwell inside of us.

The Holy Spirit has been inside of some of us for so long that we have become complacent and we have put Him in the guest room of our lives. We share Him on special occasions only.

Some of us  keep inviting Him in and kicking Him out time and time again. We do not  allow Him to take control of our lives.

Some of us are not sure if He exits and have not yet invited Him to come and dwell inside of us.

Some of us are not ready. The attractions or distractions of the world are more appealing so we keep Him standing at the door.

Rev. 3:20: ‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock, ‘If any man hear My voice and open the door, I will come in to him and sup with him and He with Me.’

Jesus wants you to be His light. He is knocking on your door right now. Will you let Him in and be a light to the world?
