May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us!
‘Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you.’ Ephesians 4:32 NIV
Asking for forgiveness and forgiving others could be the most challenging things we do as Christians. It takes a lot of humility to admit that we are wrong and ask for forgiveness. It is easy to say, ‘I am sorry.’ Even non believers say they are sorry. We need to add, ‘Will you forgive me?’ This makes an apology more genuine and mends broken relationships. Forgiving those who harm you is another challenge. People will hurt us especially those we love the most. We disobey Jesus almost every day in thought , word or need. He is willing to forgive us and forget about it. He is our model. May we learn to forgive one another just as He forgives us. Forgiveness brings blessings of peace and joy to the one forgiving and the one receiving the forgiveness. Lord help us to forgive as you forgive.
