May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us!

‘Abraham answered, “God Himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went on together.’ Genesis 22:8 NIV
The custom of animal sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins was practiced during the times before Christ. Some religions continue this practice today. Abraham was on his way to sacrifice his son Isaac because God told him to do so. Isaac became suspicious and asked a very legitimate question – where is the lamb? Abraham was known for his faith. He trusted God to provide a lamb other than his son. However he was willing to go through with the sacrifice.Isaac did not resist. Abraham took the knife to slay his son but the angel of the Lord stopped him. Our Lord sent His son into this world to sacrifice Himself for all our sins. No angel was sent to stop the crucifixion on the cross. God did not hold back. Jesus became the sacrificial lamb for our sins. As we enter the advent season may we not get too caught up in the shopping, decorating and partying. Christmas is not a time of stress. It is actually a time of freedom from stress. May we focus on the real reason why we celebrate – Jesus Christ.

Thanks for praying for Marjorie. She is in better spirits and is healing daily. We need to pray for a care giver for her.
A couple months ago we prayed for my friend Wayne who had colon surgery. I am happy to report that Wayne played golf with us this past Friday.
Thanks for praying for my time at the men’s prayer breakfast on Saturday. Nine men stood up and accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We have nine new brothers. Amen!
